As part of the ongoing collaboration between Microtech and the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate – Basra Branch, a specialized training workshop titled “Field Essentials for a Successful Site Engineer” was held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Syndicate's headquarters in Basra.

This workshop aimed to enhance the practical capabilities of young engineers by equipping them with essential field knowledge and preparing them to face the daily challenges encountered on construction and engineering sites.

The initiative came in response to the urgent need to improve the hands-on competencies of field engineers, as applying engineering knowledge in real-world environments requires precision, continuous follow-up, and strict adherence to technical standards and safety regulations.

Key topics covered during the workshop included:

Site Management and Daily Work Organization: Effective task distribution and scheduling aligned with project timelines.
Monitoring Execution Stages on Site: Ensuring construction activities conform to approved drawings and specifications, and managing on-site challenges.
Reading and Interpreting Engineering Drawings: Understanding technical details to minimize execution errors.
Coordination with Teams and Contractors: Building strong working relationships with all project stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.
